David Walsh is an Associate Marriage and Family Therapist who brings a thoughtful, compassionate, and steady presence into the therapy room. He is committed to creating a space where clients feel safe, supported, and able to engage in the vulnerability that meaningful therapeutic work requires.
David has experience working with adolescents and their families, providing both individual therapy and family therapy to support communication, connection, and overall functioning. He also works with clients navigating anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, ADHD, substance use, and school-related stressors. He has a particular interest in helping clients build resilience, strengthen coping skills, and develop a clearer understanding of themselves and their experiences.
David’s approach to therapy is collaborative and strengths-based. He draws primarily from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Narrative Therapy, while also incorporating Motivational Interviewing when appropriate, particularly in work related to behavior change and substance use. He focuses on helping clients identify their values, build practical skills, and move toward meaningful, sustainable change.
David prioritizes trust as a foundation of the therapeutic relationship. He works at each client’s pace, balancing support with gentle encouragement toward growth, and maintains an open, approachable style that invites questions and collaboration throughout the therapy process.
David earned his master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and his bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Southern California. He provides both in-person and telehealth services, with telehealth sessions available on Mondays and Tuesdays, and in-person sessions on Wednesdays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
David is supervised by Sara Hoadley, LMFT (#116971).
