Emily is a warm, thoughtful therapist who works with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, trauma, identity exploration, and relationship or family challenges. Clients often describe her as approachable, open-minded, and easy to talk to. Emily strives to create a therapy space where people feel comfortable being themselves, exploring difficult experiences, and working toward meaningful change at a pace that feels manageable and supportive.
Emily’s approach to therapy is collaborative and empowering. She believes that clients are the experts on their own lives and works alongside them to explore patterns, strengthen insight, and build practical ways to move forward. She frequently incorporates Narrative Therapy, helping clients examine the stories they carry about themselves and consider how those narratives can evolve in ways that better reflect their values, strengths, and goals. She also pays close attention to how family systems, cultural expectations, and social roles can influence emotional well-being.
Emily has experience supporting clients experiencing PTSD, acute stress, bipolar disorder, ADHD, autism, substance use concerns, and LGBTQIA+ identity exploration. As a member of both the LGBTQIA+ and neurodivergent communities herself, she brings personal understanding and a strong commitment to providing affirming, respectful care. Emily is also currently completing training in EMDR therapy and incorporates EMDR as part of her work with clients processing trauma.
Emily earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Minnesota, Morris and her Master of Science in Marital and Family Therapy from California State University, Dominguez Hills in 2025.
Emily is supervised by Sara Hoadley, LMFT (#116971).
