Meet Macy Reyes, MA, Doctoral Practicum Clinician

Macy Reyes, MA, Doctoral Practicum Clinician (She/Her)

Macy Reyes is a Doctoral Practicum Clinician at Affirming Psychological Services specializing in identity-affirming and culturally grounded therapy for adolescents, young adults, and adults. As a Vietnamese American clinician influenced by Buddhist values, Macy holds deep respect for the ways culture, family, trauma, and identity shape emotional experience. Her approach is warm, steady, and collaborative, offering space for clients to explore themselves without judgment. Macy practices under the supervision of Dr. Liane Roberts, PsyD (PSY# 36228).

Macy earned her Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Anaheim and is currently completing her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology with a concentration in Child and Adolescent Psychology. She is foundationally trained in Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) through Behavioral Tech Institute and has experience in both partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient settings. Macy has provided DBT individual treatment and facilitated DBT skills groups for adolescents, caregivers, and adults. She is also trained in the assessment and management of suicide risk.

In addition to her clinical work, Macy has experience as a Diagnostic Clinician in a university disability center where she conducted psychological evaluations for young adults with concerns related to ADHD, learning differences, autism spectrum disorder, personality functioning, and mood and anxiety disorders. She also has training in the evidence-based UCLA PEERS model, supporting adolescents and young adults in building meaningful relationships, communication skills, and social confidence. Across settings, Macy has supported first-generation students, LGBTQIA+ individuals, neurodivergent youth, and clients navigating chronic health conditions, trauma-related symptoms, self-harm, and identity development.

Macy’s therapeutic style is guided by the DBT principles of acceptance and change. She helps clients expand emotional regulation skills, understand internal experience with compassion, and practice new ways of responding that align with their values. She believes that while we cannot erase the past, we can shape the meaning we carry forward. Macy often supports clients in recognizing that healing includes both acknowledging suffering and discovering ways that pain can lead to deeper clarity and purpose. This reflects the Buddhist belief that transformation is possible when we meet our experiences with honesty and care.

Macy offers in-person sessions on Friday mornings and Sunday afternoons, and telehealth sessions on Mondays. She works with adolescents, young adults, and adults.

If you are seeking therapy that is grounded, thoughtful, and shaped around your personal goals and lived experience, Macy would be honored to work with you.
